Pipestone quarries visited for centuries by American Indians to acquire the red stone in crafting bowls for their personal and ceremonial pipes; visitor center museum, orientation film, interpretive exhibits, gift shop, with pipestone carving demonstrations (May through September) by American Indians, ¾ mile trail along Pipestone Creek, Winnewissa Falls, and tall grass prairie. Great place to experience nature, photography, and bird watching.
