Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre & Dance
by Mark St. Germain
Location: Andreas Theatre
This is the story of Mary Mallon, better known as Typhoid Mary, in her battle to escape imprisonment by the New York Health Department in 1909-10. Set in a small cottage on North Brother Island, Mary faces the decision of being held by the state for an indeterminate length of time or to conform to practices of good hygiene (such as washing her hands) and be released. In addition, she is imprisoned by her own belief that the plague she carries is not causing so many deaths. This is its Minnesota State Mankato debut.
Individual tickets for Plague of Angels are $10.00 regular, $9.00 for senior citizens, youth 16 and under and groups of 15 or more, $8.00 for current Minnesota State students.
