Join Marti and Erin Erickson, the mother-daughter co-hosts of Mom Enough, for a day of family canoeing on the Mississippi River in the heart of Twin Cities. Mom Enough is an internet-based show that explores the many facets of being a parent in today's world. At a rest stop during the paddle, Marti and Erin will facilitate a discussion on ways in which families can spend more time outdoors and model active outdoor lifestyles for their children.
Since retiring from a long career at the University of Minnesota, where she served as the founding director of the Children, Youth, & Family Consortium, Marti continues to speak and consult extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad. She is co-founder of the Children and Nature Network and serves on the Board of Wilderness Inquiry. Erin is a specialist in Maternal-Child Health and has extensive experience speaking on issues related to maternal-child health and parenting.
This trip is available for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds; safety equipment, paddling gear, and boats will be provided. Come prepared with proper clothing to stay dry, warm, and happy.
