Off-Leash Area’s Annual Neighborhood Garage Tour once again brings professional theater and dance to garages in neighborhoods throughout the metro area. The 2013 tour runs from August 30 to October 20, with performances in Brooklyn Center, Mendota Heights, Elk River, Brooklyn Park, St. Louis Park, and Shoreview.
This year’s production is a creative, fantastical romp for all ages! “The Picnic,” follows the relationship between two mismatched companions, a fastidious Bird and a rambunctious Dog, who meet in a city park and fall in love. The Bird and Dog are brought to life by two dancer-actors, while an eccentric Parks and Recreation groundskeeper paints a fantastical and ever-evolving seasonal landscape around them. The show includes an original full score by innovative jazz trio The Willie August Project, and a quirky poetic text by National Endowment for the Arts fellow Lightsey Darst.
Tickets: Suggested Donation of $5-$15
