    Performing holiday classics (and a few Broadway tunes). The Broadway Boys is a collection of the hottest male voices currently working on the New York stage. Through their dynamic vocal prowess and redefining arrangements, the Boys add elements of Pop, Funk, Gospel, Jazz, and Folk to show tunes and classic pop songs. Performing in groups of six, the Boys are able explore harmonies rarely presented by Broadway singers.

  2. Big Bang Boom

    Big Bang Boom plays an array of super-charged Big Bang Boom-ified classic tunes, including a fast-paced, non-stop-bouncing rendition of "5 Little Monkeys," an everyone-is-in-the-band-singing-the-chorus version of "SpongeBob SquarePants," a follow-the-leader style "The Ants Go Marching," and, as a grand finale, a kids contest, in the form of Big Bang Boom's famous "Great 'Hokey Pokey' Showdown."

    Big Bang Boom is a pop/rock music trio that plays parent-friendly children's music. After 20 years touring clubs and playing parties, Chuck Folds, Steve Willard, and Eddie Walker decided to expand their horizons. In 2011, Big Bang Boom won the John Lennon Song Writing Competition. Big Bang Boom is kids music with a pop sensibility, aimed at being something that parents and teachers can enjoy and feel good about letting their kids listen to and see live.

    Wilner “Wil B” Baptiste and Kevin “Kev Marcus” Sylvester, who go by the name Black Violin are a welcome revelation for their ability to meld highbrow and pop-culture, “Brandenburg” and “breakdown” into a single genre-busting act. Live they are often accompanied by their crack band, featuring ace turntable whiz DJTK (Dwayne Dayal), drummer Beatdown (Jermaine McQueen) and cellist Joe Cello (Joseph Valbrun). Watch for their new CD ‘Classically Trained’. Black Violin dazzled at the presidential inauguration.

    Acclaimed as “the premier men’s vocal ensemble in the United States” (Fanfare), Cantus is known worldwide for its trademark warmth and blend and its engaging performances of music ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century.

    As one of the nation’s few full-time men’s ensembles, Cantus has grown in prominence with its distinctive approach to creating music. Working without a conductor, the members of Cantus rehearse and perform, each contributing to the entirety of the artistic process.

    Cantus is the recipient of numerous awards, including Chorus America’s highest honor, the Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence (2009), as well as Chorus America’s Education Outreach Award (2011). Cantus was also the 2010-2011 Artist in Residence on Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media’s Performance Today.

  5. Night Fever: The Bee Gees Tribute

    "Night Fever"- The Bee Gees Tribute is the largest production of the Bee Gees in the world. This all Canadian cast has been touring for the past ten years, from Disneyland to Russia, recreating the look and sound of the Bee Gees. Capturing a full history of the Bee Gees, "Night Fever" includes songs from "To Love Somebody," "Massachusetts," I Got to Get A Message," "I Started A Joke," "Jive Talking," "More Than A Woman," "Nite Fever," "You Should Be Dancing," "Tragedy," "Stayin' Alive.," and many more.

  6. Shaun Johnson Big Band Experience

    Shaun Johnson is back at the State Theatre with a brand new show! Johnson is an Emmy-winning singer/songwriter and the lead singer of the nationally known a cappella group Tonic Sol-fa. He has now decided to take on the sound of the swing era along with an eight-piece band.

    Johnson's Big Band Experience blends the musical styling of Tony Bennett and Michael Bublé to create a contemporary big band sound with a pop flair. It is an energetic and upbeat show with something for everyone. The band features musicians who have played with The Temptations, Aretha Franklin and Johnny Mathis and who have been honored with Music Teacher of the Year awards.

  7. The New Standards

    The New Standards are three friends, musicians and raconteurs who have been performing together since 2005 in clubs and theaters everywhere, from Shanghai to New York City. TNS is a minimalist jazz trio formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2005 and composed of Chan Poling (of The Suburbs), John Munson (of Semisonic, Trip Shakespeare and The Flops) and Steve Roehm (of Electropolis, Rhombus and Billy Goat). With Poling on piano, Munson on bass and Roehm on vibraphone, the band reinterprets songs from a wide variety of genres.
