    New Ulm's biggest celebration happens mid-July every year. It features all sorts of music, including German-style bands, old-time, rock and country music. It's all under huge tents with ample tables and benches at the County Fairgrounds. Plenty of food and drink options appeal to all tastes. Craft shows, souvenir sales, children's games, fun run and the Grande Parade on Sunday make this a highlight of travel to Minnesota! "If you don't have fun here, we don't know what you're looking for!"
    Thursday's "pre-fest" event features classic rock acts. Watch for details as to who will perform.

    Oktoberfest is a joint festival of the New Ulm Holiday Inn, the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, Morgan Creek Vineyards and Schell's Brewery. The Holiday Inn's event features musical entertainment, including New Ulm's Concord Singers and a variety of bands, German goods for sale, and plenty of food and drink. Ranked in the "Top 25 Events in Minnesota" for many years! Downtown will feature old-time music during the first Saturday and a new event, The Taste of New Ulm, the second Saturday. Schell's Brewery will have music, food and drink the 2nd Saturday and Morgan Creek Vineyards will have their fun Grape Stomp event the 1st Saturday!

    65+ unit parade, all with Christmas lights, goes through the charming downtown. Viewing between 4th South and 4th North on Minnesota. Great for all ages and groups love it! (Never canceled by weather!) Begins at 6:00pm promptly. Capped off by Santa calling to the children. Come to shop, watch the parade, stay for a meal!

  6. Patriotic 4th of July Celebration

    In the middle of New Ulm, on a full block for the Turner Hall organization, they will have a variety of old-time and brass bands performing all afternoon. The area is a grassy lawn with two stages under mature shade trees.

    Food and drink available. It is a nice, carefree afternoon of music and friendship and very family-friendly.

    This FREE festival celebrates the role of the river to New Ulm. It's basically a music festival with non-stop music Friday eve and all day Saturday. The adjoining Regional River History and Information Center has interesting displays. Camping at Riverside Park (no facilities) for one unit, one vehicle - $25. There is food and drink galore available. Biking and running events, too.

    Take a food tour through historic New Ulm!

    Your walking culinary adventure in our historic downtown will take you to 6 food stops including savories and sweets! On your tour, we encourage you to take a selfie at the Glockenspiel and enjoy our examples of European influenced architecture.

    The Taste of New Ulm highlights our diverse restaurant scene that mixes new flavors with traditional favorites. This event is perfect for couples or parties of friends and family.

    The $25 tickets are available at Xorbia.com. Beverages are available on the tour but are not included in the ticket price.

    Bring the ticket print out to the Visitor Center at 1 N. Minnesota to receive tour pass and a map of participating locations. Visitor Center will be open from 10:00 am – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11. Tour passes and maps will not be available until the day of the event.

    Leading up a gentle incline of Loretto Park is a "Way of the Cross." Its 14 stations were built by The Poor Hand Maids of Jesus Christ in 1904. The exquisite statuary for the stations was imported from Bavaria. This century-old historic site is open to the public.

    New in 2007,adjacent to the Way of the Cross entrance, is a small park honoring pioneer Catholic priest, Father Alexander Berghold. The park contains a full-size statue of him, benches, flowers, and panels that describe his works.
