Event Location: Charles A Lindbergh House State Historic Site
Visitors will learn that the Lindbergh Historic Site was once a moderate-sized farm, and tenants performed much of the work between 1901 and 1920. A farmer named Gustav Gertz, who lived in the tenant's house in 1917-1918, will share tales about the Lindbergh family, C.A. and his "radical" politics, and the farm and what it was like to be a citizen of German-descent in Minnesota during WWI. Another tenant was Mary Hannah Stevens who lived on the Lindbergh property from 1906 to 1913 and worked the farm with her husband. Mrs Stevens was the mother of two boys and a friend to Evangeline Lindbergh. She will share inside stories about the Lindbergh family and about life in Little Falls at that time. Visitors will also meet young Lindbergh's maternal grandmother, "Grandma Land", who can let them into the house where they can experience the inner circle of Lindbergh family life.
