Starting out of Grand Marais, Minnesota’s spectacular harbor the route climbs to a breathtaking view of the US/Canadian border. With almost 6000 ft of climbing, it is the punchiest route of the three Heck Production events. Voyageur Brewing Company will be hosting registration and providing their exceptional craft beer on Friday evening. After the ride on Saturday, there will also be a barbecue at Voyageur Brewing. The race will be finishing at the YMCA in Grand Marais, so that while some are riding, family members can swim, take a sauna or shoot hoops.

There will be a 100 mile course as well as a 50 miler. Both will have one halfway checkpoint each. Both will run on the Heck principles of cue card navigation, self-supported riding ethics and physically challenging courses. All will be exceptionally beautiful. The aspens will be in full lime-green splendor, the insects at a minimum (usually!) and woods waking up to a new Spring.

    Registration begins January 15: http://www.heckofthenorth.com/
