Transport yourself to the year 1863 and explore Fort Snelling's Civil War history! Tour the fort and visit with costumed staff and reenactors who bring the history of that pivotal year to life. Check out interactive learning stations around the site to learn about Minnesota's soldiers at Gettysburg and other battles, the Emancipation Proclamation and the end of slavery, the Sibley Expedition of 1863, and much more! Other daily demonstrations include cannon and musket firings, Civil War medicine, period cooking, an 1860s fashion show, and more!
