FEATURED SCENIC BYWAYS
Southeast Minnesota - The Great River Road follows the mighty Mississippi along its entire length, nearly 2,100 miles in all. This segment, which runs about 225–250 miles round trip, is centered on U.S. 61 from Red Wing to the Iowa border, although we took side loops along the way to work in a few extra sets of curves.
Southern Minnesota - The MN River Valley Scenic Byway started for us in Belle Plaine, where we met on the bridge over looking the MN River just north of town. Our goal was to hit a few historical sites along the 400-mile route to learn more about some of Minnesota’s Native American heritage and the Dakota War of 1862.
Northeast Minnesota - The North Shore Scenic Byway is a spectacularly scenic route that includes seven state parks and is designated as an "All-American Road". Our journey began just north of Two Harbors at Betty's Pies. It was a beautiful day and the cool crisp breeze coming off Lake Superior really got us excited for the ride north.
Mid Central Minnesota - The Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway is a 54-mile route located in the middle of Minnesota - making it an easy destination whether coming from the Twin Cities area, the Iron Range, or even the western portion of the state.
