Tourism Delegation Calls on Washington D.C.

Minnesota was well represented in the Destination Washington D.C. travel advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill last week. Charley Johnson, Fargo/Moorhead CVB; Debbie Lloyd, MLT Vacations; and Terry Mattson, Visit Duluth, along with John Edman and Colleen Tollefson of Explore Minnesota, called on our congressional delegation and their staff to secure support for tourism policy issues. Among the most important Minnesota issues were:
- Smarter visa policy, including temporary worker visas
- Reauthorization of the Travel Promotion Act (TPA), which established Brand USA;
- Transportation infrastructure; and
- Meetings and conferences
