Registration Open for the 2013 PedalMN Bicycle Summit September 30 – October 1
Release Date: Aug 14, 2013
The theme for the 2013 bicycle summit is “Creating Connections.” Whether you are involved in parks and recreation, public health, tourism, transportation or a biking advocate organization, there will be plenty of connections for you at the PedalMN Bicycle Summit to be held in the Brainerd Lakes area.
On day one, a local planning group from Cuyuna Country Recreation Area is working with people from the area and surrounding towns and businesses to provide information that can help you plan, expand or market mountain biking in your destination. Another option for Monday is a road and trail ride with learning stops along the way. If learning while biking isn’t your preference, a van tour is planned to discover the economic and community benefits of expanding biking options in your destination, learning through the eyes of several community representatives who have experienced it themselves.
At dinner on Monday, September 30, the president and U.S. executive director of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), Mike Van Abel, will talk about IMBA and the many resources they offer communities and trail advocates to create, maintain and promote mountain biking. Mike will be moderating the mountain biking breakout session on Tuesday also, when speakers will go into greater depth on opportunities for Minnesota mountain biking trails.
Early registration for the full conference is $100 until Friday, September 20, with special rates for additional attendees from the same organization and one-day registration options. Go to http://www.rsvpbook.com/2013PedalMN to register online, or download a registration form at www.exploreminnesota.com/2013PedalMNSummit.
Cragun’s Conference Center will be the location of the day two sessions and is offering a special rate of $70 for accommodations on Monday night. Click here for the registration form for lodging.
