Many Events Offered in Conjunction with 2014 Explore Minnesota Tourism Conference

The dates of the Explore Minnesota Tourism Conference are Feb. 4-5, but there are several optional events before and during the conference that will enhance your experience.
Visit Duluth is offering “Be Proactive - Working with Government Officials to Create Change” from 2-4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. Tourism Growth Coalition members and hospitality lobbyists will share tips and strategies to help you increase support for tourism in your community. After the seminar, plan to attend dinner and take a free tour of Canal Park Brewery. The cost for these two events is $25.
The University of Minnesota Tourism Center will once again bring their expertise to a pre-conference seminar, “How Might Emerald Ash Borer and Gypsy Moth Quarantines Impact Tourism?” on Monday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. The seminar cost is $10.
Other pre-conference meetings include the Minnesota Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus (MACVB) at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, and “Making the Most of Explore Minnesota Tourism Opportunities” at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
The popular MACVB Silent Auction will feature online bidding and some exciting big ticket items. Bid for $500 Delta Vacations; two John Deere riding lawnmowers (valued at $3,000 each); and ad space in Twin Cities Business Journal/Best of the Midwest, Minnesota Meetings and Events, and AAA Living Magazine (valued at $2,000-$4,000 each).
