Apply to Host the 2015 Minnesota Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener by Aug. 1

A host community is being sought for the 2015 Minnesota Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener. The purpose of the event is to focus on Minnesota’s hunting heritage, cultural traditions and the economic impact of the activity, as well as to generate associated travel and tourism.
The Minnesota Deer Hunters Association will coordinate, promote and conduct the 2015 Minnesota Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener. Explore Minnesota Tourism and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will provide support and assistance for this event. These partners will also work with community tourism organizations to put on the 2015 event.
The event, scheduled for Nov. 6-8, 2015, will be the 13th consecutive Minnesota Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener and will follow this year’s event in the Bemidji area. The deadline for submitting a proposal is August 1.
