Tourism Info Requests Grow Across the Board in 2012

Explore Minnesota Tourism continues to serve significant numbers of travelers. For calendar year 2012, we are up 26% over last year for the total number of inquiries for information via mail, e-mail, website requests and advertising responses. The total number of requests for information through the end of September is nearly 215,000. Web traffic remains very high as well, with over one million page views in September.

Visitorship at the Travel Information Centers was up 13.51% last month compared with September 2011. Year-to-date, TIC visitorship is up 21.26% over 2011.

The Explore Minnesota mobile application, Active Minnesota, surpassed 4,000 iPhone downloads since its release. The Android version of this app has exceeded 1,000 downloads. The app will transition to winter activities in November.
