Working for Minnesota Jobs Tourism Roundtable Held

Governor Mark Dayton held a roundtable on tourism jobs on Saturday, October 20 at Grand View Lodge near Nisswa. A panel of 12 industry representatives gave input on obstacles to growing their business and their employment. A number of important issues came up, including: workforce readiness, fees and costs, high speed internet, post Labor Day school start, housing, water levels of lakes, AIS, state health care exchange, funding for tourism promotion, bidding for state meetings, vacation home rental, trails, and transportation access.
Governor Dayton is holding a number of roundtables on industry sectors, including mining, medical, etc. Thanks to all who participated.
