Release Date: Jan 24, 2013
Those looking for the latest trends in marketing will find plenty of opportunity for learning at the 2013 Explore Minnesota Tourism Conference, February 12-13 at the Minneapolis Hilton. Early bird registration ends Tuesday, January 29.
Shaun Aukland from Google will be sharing trends in emerging digital channels, actions you can take to stay ahead of the curve and most importantly, how to quantify results. Shaun will also utilize his expertise in digital campaigns to facilitate breakout sessions with Minnesota tourism experts on best practices in social media.
One of the issues facing tourism businesses today is online traveler reviews – what to do to capitalize on good reviews, and how to limit the effects of the occasional traveler grievance. In the “Managing Traveler Reviews” session, Michelle Wohl will provide tips on using online reviews and social media to help you take control of your online reputation.
The Travel Marketplace is another great place to learn about innovative trends in tourism marketing. Vendors with expertise in social media and online marketing as well as new opportunities in print media will be available during breaks and at the opening reception. While you’re there, stop by the Minnesota Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (MACVB) silent auction to bid on items like lodging packages, gift baskets, attraction tickets, and more.
