Dan's Favorite Bowling Alleys

  • Valley Lanes - Spring Valley

Nestled in beautiful downtown Spring Valley, Valley lanes is the oldest official bowling lanes in Minnesota. Many people say the lanes are haunted and have reported seeing a floating orb of light. All I saw was a cool place to bowl.

  • McGregor Lanes - McGregor

Originally built as a movie theater in the 1940s, McGregor Lanes was converted into a bowling alley twenty years later. It’s been filled with the sound of strikes ever since.

  • Striker’s Corner - Stewartville

They call the Stewartville Lanes “Striker’s Corner” for a reason. There’s been plenty of 300 games bowled here (that’s a perfect score to all you bowling newbies out there). One guy alone bowled seven of them!

  • Paul Bunyan Bowl - Baxter

Famous for its legendary statue of Paul Bunyan and his friend Babe the Blue Ox, these lanes have big shoes to fill. Luckily, the bowling here is of mythical proportions.

  • Memory Lanes - Minneapolis

Conveniently located within walking distance of the Hiawatha Light Rail system, Memory Lanes will spark all kinds of nostalgic memories. And they have live punk bands on Monday nights.

  • Sandstone Lanes - Sandstone

Bowling is filled with friendly people, but the friendliest and most helpful I came across were here at Sandstone Lanes. Just a hop and a skip off of I-35, it’s a must for anyone in need of some bowling.

  • Braham Lanes & Wayne’s Pro Shop - Braham

The serenity inside Braham Lanes is unmatched in Minnesota. Feel at one with nature as you get strike after strike. This was the first time I got to see the inner workings of the pin resetter. It was magical.

  • Stars & Strikes - Wyoming, MN

State-of-the-art bowling and so much more can be found at this entertainment mecca just a half-hour north of the Twin Cities. If you think the inside of the lanes looks like a clown explosion, you should check out the laser tag area.

  • Echo Lanes - Austin

Only half of Echo Lanes was torn down decades ago by a tornado. But don’t worry, it’s been rebuilt and it’s better than ever, with the addition of the aptly-named Twister Lounge for your enjoyment.

  • Bryant Lake Bowl - Minneapolis

This gem of a bowling alley is located near the intersection of Bryant and Lake in Uptown, Minneapolis. Not just a hotbed of bowling, the Bryant Lake Bowl theater is famous for eclectic and always interesting performances.

As someone who has only been bowling on a league for over 3 years, this was highly entertaining! Thanks for the laughs Dan, and yes, math does come in handy in bowling. :)

This crackers me up. Looks like a fun trip ... even though your bowling skills are, um ... funny! Yes, you have funny bowling skills. You didn't "spare" any laughs.
