It’s prime cycling season, and we, through sponsorship of HealthPartners, have installed 15 permanent bicycle tune-up stations in Duluth, St. Cloud and the Twin Cities area.
Each station offers tools and an air compressor tire pump for quick and easy bike maintenance. Find a station near you! To accompany the tune-up stations, two vending machines with bike accessories, equipment and healthy snacks can be found in Minneapolis.
“Biking is a great way to make physical activity a part of your daily routine,” said Dr. Thomas Kottke, a HealthPartners medical director and consulting cardiologist. “20 miles of biking a week can reduce the risk of heart disease by 50 percent. It’s good for your head, and your heart.”
With more than 4,000 miles of paved trails, endless biking routes, an outstanding mountain biking scene, and one of the nation’s largest bike-share programs, Minnesota offers excellent options for every kind of cyclist. Bicycling has a positive impact on the state, including benefits to individuals, communities, the environment and the economy.
