Lakewood Lodge is a Minnesota resort on Sand Lake offering year-round family and fishing vacation with new lake cabins that have all the amenities of home, a new playground, lodge, swimming beach, planned activities, great fall colors and fall hunting vacations plus fantastic winter getaways.
Our fourteen lakefront, housekeeping cabins are comfortable and well spaced with all the amenities of home like fireplaces, A/C, Wireless Internet, dish-washers, cable tv, gas grills, screened porches and 2 bathrooms and individual campfire rings just to name a few. All cabins offer exceptional views of our quiet, protected bay of Sand Lake.
We offer the convenience of on-site boat /motor and pontoon rentals along with bait, gas, tackle and ice. The docks are powered and you get a dock space free with each cabin rental.
Our swimming beach is perfect for playing, building a sand castle or soaking up the sun and our sand-bottomed swimming area has a raft, a slide and no drop-offs. You will also enjoy using our canoe, hydrobikes, kayaks and paddle boat on the nice summer days. We have a new large children's playground and offer numerous kids activities and resort activities including scheduled activities, minnow races, , professional fishing guide seminar and much more.
Our lodge has minimal groceries, candy, pop, slushys, ice cream, limited food like pizza and nachos and fries plus a small bar to unwind after a long day on the lake.
Our location is great! We are located 38 miles northwest of Grand Rapids or 50 miles northeast of Bemidji or 10 miles northeast of Lake Winnie (Winnibigoshish) or 5 miles west of Bowstring Lake.
Sand Lake offers fishing opportunities for walleye, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, jumbo perch, crappie, sunfish and bluegills. Additionally, our location on the Bowstring Chain of Lakes allows access to Little Sand Lake, the Bowstring River, Bowstring Lake, Rice Lake, Dora Lake, the Bigfork River, Bird's Eye Lake, and Portage Lake.
