Year-RoundFisherman's Point is located on a wooded peninsula on Whitewater Lake less than two miles from downtown Hoyt Lakes. The area has been carefully planned to provide the amenities modern campers want, such as hot showers and electrical hookups, while preserving the natural beauty and native wildlife so abundant in northern Minnesota. Campers will enjoy the privacy of beautiful wooded campsites, excellent fishing and miles of hiking/biking trails. Located on a beautiful wooded peninsula on Whitewater Lake just two miles from downtown Hoyt Lakes, Fisherman's Point Campground has 70 sites; many have direct access to the lake. The area has been carefully planned to provide the amenities modern campers want, such as hot showers and electrical hookups, while preserving the natural beauty and native wildlife. Campers enjoy fishing for walleye, northern, crappie, perch, bass and sunfish either from their boat or the fishing pier. All campsites have picnic tables and fire rings and split firewood is available for a small charge. Select sites are available for winter camping. Bring your snowmobile and explore many miles of groomed trails that wind through some of Minnesota's most beautiful forest.Just two miles away you can enjoy volleyball, basketball, tennis and swimming at the Colby Lake Beach. Area gardners have planted beautiful flowerbeds along the paved hiking and biking trails that are accessible from the campground. You won't want to miss an evening stroll along the lake.Fisherman's Point makes a great home base for sightseeing on the Iron Trail. Many exciting attractions such as the historical Longyear Drill Site, Giants Ridge Golf and Ski Resort, the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, Ironworld USA, and the Tower-Soudan Underground Mine are just minutes away.Campground office hours are 12 noon to 7 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
