Dancing Bear Resort is a bit north of Bemidji, yet easy to get to. We have six great cabins, all just steps from the Balm Lake. The cabins are situated to give you privacy, yet still be close to everything. The cabins are 2-3 bedrooms and each one has a full-sized futon - bring the neighbor kid, there is plenty of room! Two of the cabins are completely winterized, making us perfect for that weekend winter getaway.

Cabins have the following for your comfort... Bed linens, Microwave, Coffee makers, Color TV (with remote), grill (on your own deck), All cooking utensils, pots & pans, plates - a complete kitchen! Eat your heart out, Wolfgang Puck! Air conditioners are available for a nominal fee
We do have wireless internet connections available just $20 for the week. 100% range in the lodge and pretty good in Cabins 1-4. All you need to bring are towels and food and be ready to relax and have fun! For details on each cabin, just visit the website.

Now for what you were waiting to hear about - FISHING! Balm Lake is a spring fed lake with over 700 acres of prime fishing. Known for trophy walleye, northern pike, bass and panfish - the very best panfish fishing around (ok, we are prejudiced, so there!). Everybody can catch something...kids of all ages will enjoy the ease with which they will "catch dinner." Some of our biggest "wall hangers" have been caught off the dock. As you can see, we not only accept pets we WELCOME them. Deuce, our 180 pound Newfoundland, is the official greeter and general manager of Dancing Bear Resort. He will lead you to your cabin, get you settled in...and stay for dinner...and breakfast. Don't leave your dog at the kennel, make it a vacation for the entire family!
