The central focus of the park is the man made lake on the north fork of the Roseau River. Here is an abrupt transition from farmland to wilderness. This park gives visitors a chance to see a variety of Minnesota wildlife. Loons, whitetail deer and beaver can often be seen; fisher, otter,lynx, black bear and wolves also live in the area. It is also a great place to view many bird species of Minnesota. There are 13 mi hiking, 5 mi mountain bike,6 mi cross-country ski and 6 mi snowmobile trails.
