May 15, 2013 - Sep 19, 2013An authentic northwoods wilderness lodge, Burntside Lodge is the oldest remaining guest lodge in the Ely, Minnesota area. Nestled among the pines on the southern shore of Burntside Lake, Burntside is a summer resort which has been welcoming guests since 1913 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Spaced throughout the resort grounds, we offer over 20 different one, two and three bedroom cabins. Each cabin at Burntside remains on its original footprint with a history all of its own. Thoughtfully renovated and updated, each remains true to their original character with wood floors, knotty pine and log walls and many of their original furnishings. You will find comfortable beds and pillows outfitted with fine linens.To enjoy the quiet solitude of the northwoods, there are no TV's or telephones in any of our cabins.
Our restaurant offers outstanding modern American cuisine, complimented by an excellent selection of fine wines, premium spirits and magnificent views of Burntside Lake. Wine Spectator magazine has honored Burntside Lodge with its "Award of Excellence" for our exceptional wine list. We are open for dinner daily, with breakfast service on Saturday and Sunday.
Our early season begins May 13th without restaurant/lounge service, cabin rental only. Restaurant and lounge service begins May 23rd. Our 2013 season concludes Sunday, September 22nd.
A Marina with canoes, kayaks, hydrobikes, pontoons and boats is available to our guests.
