    year, award-winning Songs of Hope offers music for everyone, from U.S. pop to international folk, from show tunes to freedom ballads. Made possible in part by an Arts Tour Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.

    These activities are made possible in part by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the State’s general fund and its arts and cultural heritage fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.

    “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is a musical comedy about a fictional spelling bee set in Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups. The winner of two Tony Awards, this delightful musical has charmed audiences with its effortless wit and humor. Featuring a wildly funny and touching book and a truly fresh and vibrant score, this bee is an unforgettable experience. And the best part is that all of the tweens are played by adults. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box. The talented Nate Chesney will be featured in this show.

    Tonic Sol-fa began at St. John’s University in Central Minnesota. This vocal group reached national prominence with appearances on NBC’s Today Show and in Newsweek magazine. Tonic Sol-fa has shared the stage with a number of recognizable performers including Jay Leno, Jeff Foxworthy, and Lonestar. They were recently part of the 30th Anniversary celebration of A Prairie Home Companion. Tonic Sol-fa has established itself as one of the most in-demand vocal groups in the Midwest, and one of the most successful independent acts in America.
