"Take a Walk on the Wild Side"- Wild Rice Festival will be held October 21st, 2017 at the Armory in Park Rapids. This all day event is a partnership between the Nemeth Art Center, White Earth Nation, Downtown Business Association and Chamber of Commerce. Our goal with this celebration is to promote regional artists, musicians and the natural wild rice which is unique to our region of the world.

Musical acts, presenters and performers confirmed for the festival so far include: Chris Koza, Alex "Crankshaft" Larson, Shannon Murray, Annie Humphrey, Eddie Kidd and Sonny Johnson.

Artwork from Park Rapids area citizens, along with artists from the White Earth Nation will be on display.

Attendees to the event will have a chance to taste and learn about the different strands of wild rice found throughout the region, along with how this resource is harvested and the different ways wild rice can be finished.

This festival will connect local ricers with a larger customer base in hopes of growing the market for the real wild rice; which will help both the White Earth and Park Rapids communities.
