The Museum functions as an innovative cultural catalyst in the Upper Midwest Region by collecting and interpreting art from around the world and developing exhibitions and programs for education in the arts. The Museum Store offers a unique selection of art books, posters, cards, jewelry, gifts, and children's items. Guided tours of the exhibitions are available and may be arranged by calling the Museum at least two weeks in advance. Nineteenth century modern and contemporary American works of art in painting, sculpture, ceramic, works on paper and photography. The permanent collection reflects artistic activity from a cross-cultural
perspective, representing artists from the region, the
nation and around the world. In addition to its
permanent collections, the museum features special
temporary exhibitions curated by Tweed staff or on
loan from other institutions. No admission fee is
charged but donations are welcome and suggested at the rate of $5/family, $2/individuals, $1/seniors,
children and students free.
