Orchestra Hall is the home of the acclaimed Minnesota Orchestra, whose artistic leader, Music Director Osmo Vänskä, guides a season encompassing nearly 175 concerts that are heard live by 350,000 individuals. Founded in 1903 as the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra is recognized for distinguished performances around the world, award-winning recordings, radio broadcasts and educational programs, and commitment to building the repertoire of the future. Orchestra Hall is also home to pops and jazz series and is a renowned venue for artists of many genres. The Hall will close temporarily beginning in June 2012 for a major renovation that is set for completion in summer 2013. During the Hall’s renovation, the Minnesota Orchestra will perform at other area venues including the Auditorium at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Ted Mann Concert Hall at the University of Minnesota, and Central Lutheran Church. Visit the Orchestra’s website at minnesotaorchestra.org for concert and ticket information.
