  1. The King's New Clothes

    The King's New Clothes

    411 Third Street West
    Northfield, MN 55057
    Call: (507) 645-8877

The King’s New Clothes, by Kevin Holmstrom Bradshaw, is a Project Purple Door production of the Northfield Arts Guild. This is  a delightful, funny re-telling of the Hans Christian Andersen story. The vain and childish king is duped by two schemers who convince him that they can make him a unique suit of clothes that is not only beautiful, but magical– it can only be seen by those who are honest. What will happen when the king is presented with his new threads? The King's New Clothes is a funny and fast-paced parable about pride, delusion and human nature.

Performances of this all-student production are held at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 Third Street West, Northfield.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and can be purchased online at or by calling 507-645-8877.

Project Purple Door of the Purple Door Youth Theater is sponsored by Kevin Ely and Jerry Fox, and by Schieck Orthodontics. 2017-18 Northfield Arts Guild Education programs are sponsored by Northfield News.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
