    Participate in this two day tractor ride in SE Minnesota's scenic Bluff Country. The ride is a round - about starting & ending each day at the Fillmore County Fairgrounds in Preston, Minnesota. Registration fee includes meals.

    The 2nd annual Bluff Country tractor ride is happening, and after the fun of the ride, you can stick around and dance the night away!! The Fillmore County Fair fall fundraising dance will be in the big barn featuring "Root River Jam". $10 at the door (no advanced tickets), starting at 8pm. Come enjoy some great music and fun, and help out the Fillmore County Fair!!

    Held annually in July at the Fillmore County Fairgrounds in Preston. 4-H & Open Class exhibits, carnival, rodeo, and demolition derby, bands, & other grandstand events.

    Annual run along the Root River State Trail on Thanksgiving morning. There is no cost ot participate in this event, but please bring a food item donation to share for the local food shelf. Registration takes place at 7:30am at the Riverside on the Root Restaurant in Lanesboro with the run starting at 8am. There are two run options: 10 miles between Lanesboro to Preston or 5 miles between Lanesboro and the Old Barn Resort. Contact the Fillmore County Journal for more information.

Chili Cook-Off Contest held at the "Trailhead Inn & Suites" from 5-7pm. Test-taste chili entries & vote for your favorite. Warm up by the bonfire.

    Environmental learning center for trout, salmon, cold water ecology, geology, fly fishing, fly tying, spin fishing, aquatic entomology, and local fishing information.

    The National Trout Center (NTC) provides hands-on activities to engage the public in awareness of the environment and cold water fishery resources of the driftless region and the arts and crafts related to trout fishing. The NTC is your go-to place for "All Things Trout".

    Individuals, families, students, and groups are invited to participate in lectures & workshops, take a tour of the center, or request a specialized educational program to meet your group's interests.
