    Immerse yourself in owls at the only annual, full-weekend, all-owl festival in North America. Highlights include live owl programs, owl prowls to call in wild owls, a birding and natural history bus trip, and a banquet featuring the presentation of the World Owl Hall of Fame awards and international speakers. Families can build an owl nest box, dissect an owl pellet, make a variety of owl crafts, and have a hoot eating owl-themed food.

    Enjoy learning about owls with Stan in this enthusiastic and humorous presentation filled with eye-popping images of every owl species found in the United States. For over 20 years Stan has traveled across the US to study and photograph owls. In this presentation Stan will explain the many intriguing aspects of these nocturnal birds in plain and simple terminology. The presentation is based on his book, "Intriguing Owls", which features several photos of Alice the Great Horned Owl and Owl Center specimens. Followed by a book signing.

    Stan will also be giving a "Remarkable Woodpeckers" program for the Houston Nature Center the same day, based on his book which features photographs of specimens from the Nature Center and sapsuckers from the Houston area.
    Cost: regular admission ($7 adults; $4 ages 4-17; 3 and under and members: FREE)
