    Friday registration is followed by food, sodas and rock-n-roll music, free to all participants. Saturday registration is followed by the show-n-shine and trophy presentation at 12:00 pm. Drawings for cash and prizes all morning for registered participants (must be present to win) club members not eligible. Dinner at a place of your choice from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and back to the C'Mon Inn for Root Beer Floats.

    A quintessential kickoff to the holiday season. The day begins with strolling through charming shops on Main Avenue sampling goodies and exploring for the perfect gift. A live Nativity scene starts the festivities leading up to the community caroling and lighting of the Christmas tree on Main. There may even be a visit from the jolly man himself!

  6. Fishhook Challenge Half-Marathon & 5k walk/run

    The 5 km is fairly flat & fast. Starts by the tennis courts in the park and finishes on the Heartland Trail with the 1/2 marathon participants. The Half Marathon is a scenic run around Fishhook Lake (clockwise). There will be aid stations available. The entire run will be on pavement. The first 5 miles are flat, the next 7 have rolling hills and the final mile is flat (on the Heartland Trail).

  7. Headwaters R/C Flying Club Annual Fun Fly

    "Pilots" from across north-central Minnesota will participate in the annual event. Extra events will include R/C combat rounds throughout the day.

    The public can participate in raffles and prize drawings given away periodically. Prizes donated by local businesses and sponsors will be awarded.

    A Swap shop and Flea market will allow hobbyists to buy, sell or trade models.

  8. Itascatur/Headwaters 100 Bike Ride

    This includes a 45, 75 & 100 mile ride. The longer rides go through Itasca State Park and the 45 mi ride also goes North of Park Rapids. Food & beverage stops will be located along the course, as well as restrooms or port-a-potties.

    Thrill to live action World Class Lumberjack shows. Be amazed by Master chainsaw sculptors carving beautiful works of art right before your eyes to become available for purchase at an exciting live auction. A variety of demonstrators are on hand to share their historic knowledge.

  11. Northwoods Triathlon

    Swim: .25 mi from city beach on Lake Belle Taine. Bike: 14 mi ride on paved roads--limited traffic control. Run: 5k run on a fast, out & back course on the paved Heartland Trail. Individuals or relay teams. There will be a maximum number of entries, so register early.

    Registration opens at 8:00 am on January 2, 2013. Online registration only.

    Events include 6.5 acre corn maze, wagon rides, mini-golf, pumpkin propeller, giant slide, hen house, Davy Crockett's Wild West shooting gallery, cow "milking", straw bale maze, and much much more! Children 5 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult. A concession stand is also available with home made treats, all-beef hot dogs, soup, cider and more. The last Saturday in September and every Saturday in October.
