    The community comes together to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season and partake in the true meaning of giving. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be present to take pictures with the children and to listen to their holiday wishes. In the evening, the town will be lit up by an array of holiday floats and the excitement of Walker's Festival of Lights parade.

    Annual non-profit Walleye Tournament held the weekend after Memorial Day. The tournament has a maximum of 150 teams fishing. Fishing tournaments have a long history on Leech Lake. The Leech Lake Walleye Tournament is a family friendly and volunteer organized event for all ages.

    The Walker North Country Marathon (WNCM) Big on scenery, beauty, and challenge. We partner with the Chippewa National Forest to give a race to those who love nature and would never be called “faint at heart.” The course starts in the quaint, lakeside town of Walker, Mn hugging the borders of Leech Lake before venturing out into the forest to enjoy vibrant fall colors, the sweet smell of wildflowers and leaves changing, and the clean air of nature unspoiled.

    Walker Bay Days is a family outdoor event held in the Walker City Park each August. Saturday activities will include the "Big Dig" for children, volleyball and basketball tournaments, Karaoke for all ages and a 5K walk/run. The mission of this event is "A celebration of our family values, community pride and commitment to the preservation of the Leech Lake area and our bountiful natural resources and history."
