    Handcrafted Snowshoe 3-Day Workshop

    Join a master woodworker to learn to make a pair of traditional Ojibwe-style snowshoes. Learn the processes of bending ash frames, mortising cross pieces, lacing webs using hollow nylon, and creating bindings using lamp wick materials. Pointed at both ends, this design is well suited for travel in wooded areas and on frozen lakes. Materials and tools are provided.

    The workshop runs:

    Make the most of winter by heading outdoors to snowshoe, cross-country ski, ride bullet sleds down a groomed hill, and launch snowballs with a giant slingshot. Throughout the day guests can enjoy music, a vintage ski exhibit, carnival games, and wildlife presentations featuring live animals. Guests can also take sleigh rides to see the logging camp under winter conditions.
