Year-RoundThis is a must see while visiting Bluff Country. It is a completely restored historic depot with a modern addition acquired as the collection expanded.
Established in 1974 after the Community of Peterson moved the former CMStP Railroad Station to its present site; it contains interesting local memorabilia, art, artifacts, and photographs of events and points of interest. This original depot was authorized in 1876 and built in 1877 as part of the former Southern Minnesota Railroad (1855).
The museum also has a genealogy center for people of Norwegian heritage. Nearly 100% of Peterson's original settlers were from Norway. John Erickson, founder and curator, enjoys helping with research.
