The word "Genius" is thrown around far too casually these days. Concerning Ray Charles, the word was not only apt, but the word itself may be too downplayed. HALLELUJAH WE LOVE HIM SO, the newest show from Mick Sterling Presents is an unabashed love-fest from a collection of top Twin Cities players to the man who molded them and inspired them to pick up and instrument or be a singer. Led on lead vocals by Twin Cities icons Mick Sterling and Wain McFarlane, and a three piece horn section, 3 background singers and a soulful and bluesy rhythm section, led on piano by Scottie Miller, one of the leading blues and soul pianists in the Twin Cities and the nation, and driven by the mighty Bobby Vandell on drums, this show will give you your Ray Charles fix in a unique and entertaining way. From GEORGIA ON MY MIND, HIT THE ROAD JACK and I GOT A WOMAN, along with the essential DROWN IN MY OWN TEARS, CRYING TIME, I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU and many other songs that he made his own, HALLELUJAH WE LOVE HIM SO is a show that will be hard to sit down for. It's a celebration of the man. The Genius of Soul, Mr. Ray Charles.

“We are saying what HE said,” laughs Matt Vee referring to the one and only Neil Diamond. Matt along with cousins Jeff and Tommy Vee, music veterans and nephew and sons of the legendary Bobby Vee, join forces with their family and friends to celebrate the music from the timeless catalog of Neil Diamond. With songs like "Cracklin' Rosie," "Song Sung Blue," and "Sweet Caroline,” Neil Diamond sold over 100 million records worldwide with music that became the soundtrack to one generation after another with hits spanning five decades. As a Tin Pan Alley song writer in the mid 60s, he penned songs recorded by everyone from Elvis Presley to Deep Purple and, of course, the Monkee’s classic, “I’m A Believer.”

“This is not a tribute show,” says Tommy Vee. “This is a celebration of an amazing musical icon, one we all love and respect. We have been fans since we were in grade school and first learning our respective instruments and played many of these tunes over the years in various bands. We have recruited an incredible group of singers and players and have gone back to the original records,” he explains, “it is all about the vocals and Matt nails it. It’s going to be a rockin’ night!”

Joining Matt will be wife Julie Velline on vocals, veteran Twin Cities musicians Frank Plachecki, Kurt Rodman, Boyd Lee and Jeff Engholm, as well as a very special surprise for the finale.

Glen Campbell’s guitarist and bandleader for 15 years, Nashville recording artist and Long Lake, MN native Jeff Dayton presents a unique, intimate, first-person evening of the songs and stories behind Glens Hall of Fame career that is both sentimental and upbeat. Dayton is backed by other musicians from Glen’s tours and this is as close to seeing Glen as anyone can get, now that he’s retired from any appearances. You’ll hear all your favorites like Wichita Lineman, Gentle On My Mind and Rhinestone Cowboy, mixed with hits you may not know Glen was a part of recording and singing on. His battle with Alzheimer’s is well covered in the national media and this show also adds a very personal look at Glen’s memory loss in Dayton’s song “Long Slow Train Out of Town.” Not a dress-alike or sound-alike or look-alike show, this is the one show that uses actual musicians from one of the greatest entertainers in American pop and country history. Dayton is hot off his shows at the 2015 MN State Fair and appearing in clubs and shows around the USA. Crowds in Sedona and Scottsdale AZ sold out the first run of these shows and you’ll want to get your tickets for the Chanhassen Dinner Theater dates ASAP.
