Year-RoundEastman Nature Center in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton, will close to the public on May 2. The good news is that it’s only temporary. That’s because the current inefficient and cramped building will be demolished so a new 13,000-square-foot building can be built on the same site. The new nature center will feature quiet reading and observation rooms, larger classrooms, a much larger exhibit area with wildlife watching, all-new professional exhibits, an open-air deck, a small coffee service, public wi-fi signal, and an after-hours restroom. The new center is expected to open late summer of 2012.
