Flying umbrellas, larger-than-life balloons, giant kites floating over the audience, and the biggest snow globe you've ever seen will make audiences of all ages gasp and giggle. Air Play is the wordless adventure of two siblings on a journey, transforming the ordinary into objects of uncommon beauty. Fabrics will dance, confetti will become the night sky and an enormous canopy of hovering silk will forever alter their future.

    Gather the entire family for Ken Ludwig's acclaimed adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 1902 mystery, The Hound of the Baskervilles. Five talented actors play 40 quirky characters in this hilarious mystery. The heirs of the Baskerville line are being murdered one by one. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must work feverishly to crack the curse before it dooms the newest heir. Join in as these intrepid detectives follow leads, unravels clues, hit dead-ends and zigzag with the story until the shockingly funny conclusion.

    The legendary agility, strength and dexterity of the guachos (cowboys) of Argentina fueled the creation of malambo. What was once a fast-paced competition of precision footwork had grown into one of the world's most visually stunning dance forms. It's filled with power, passion and energy. Since 2007, it has been a growing global sensation thanks to the touring of Che Malambo - an all-male dance company created by noted French choreographer Gilles Brinas. Che Malambo will deliver a thrilling blend of masterful footwork, rhythmic stomping, drumming and song.

    Celebrate the incomparable Lena Horne! Audiences are transported back in time with Broadway star Syndee Winters (Hamilton, The Lion King, Pippin). Lena: A Moment with a Lady uses powerful vocals and a rich story line to share the most pivotal moments in Lena Horne's life. In the 1940s and 50s, Ms. Horne topped the charts with hit songs like Stormy Weather and The Lady is a Tramp, as well as starred in numerous films. Recognized as an influential African-American pioneer in entertainment, she broke new ground when she signed with MGM studios and became one of the first artists to break the color line.

    Welcome the Stranger, set in 17th century Italy, honors the lives of twin Saints Benedict and Scholastica. The Rose Ensemble will showcase 500 years of music celebrating the unconditional hospitality of the Benedictines - much of it preserved in the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library, SJU. The Rose Ensemble's vocal artistry invites exploration of hospitality as a community value exemplified in music, story, community practice, and spirituality in the Benedictine tradition. This timely new program highlights the call of Benedict's rule: "All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ."


    The Rose Ensemble will showcase 500 years of music celebrating the unconditional hospitality of the Benedictines - much of it preserved in the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library, SJU.

    The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is the original (often imitated, never replicated) troupe of all-singing, all-strumming, all-ukulele players! For 30 plucking years, their performances have delivered witty, whistling, virtuosic, awesome, foot-stomping good times. Selling out concerts around the globe, these first-rate artists create big fun from small instruments as they slide playfully from Tchaikovsky to Spaghetti Western to Otis Redding.

    They have trained their whole lives. In June 2017, exceptional rising stars display technical mastery and deep passion as they compete to be the world's finest young pianist. Widely recognized as the world's most important, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition brings together 30 competitors (ages 18-30) from 16 different nations once every four years, and is dedicated to the discovery of the finest players in the world/ Our matinee performance will feature the coveted gold medal winner - the newly selected "world's best pianist."
