    Bring your whole family to ring in the New Year at the ninth annual New Year’s Eve Party at Lebanon Hills Regional Park.

    Enjoy candlelight hiking, snowshoeing and ice skating, sledding a lit hill, bonfires, live animals from Dakota Wild Animals, storytelling by Roy Edward Power, magic by Matt Dunn, a ball drop and more on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 from 5–8 p.m. at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center.

    More than 1,200 luminaries will light more than 2 miles of hiking, snowshoeing and ice skating trails.

    Pick your passion for a Valentine's Day like no other!

    Cross-county ski over 5 miles of ski trail, snowshoe or hike nearly 2 miles of trail, ice skate and kicksled on a frozen lake, all by candlelight. Slide on the lit sledding hill.

    Ski and snowshoe equipment rental available. Bring your own skates and sleds.

    Hot concessions provided by Food Trucks.

    Several bonfires and the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center will be available for event goers to warm up.

    The Trails by Candlelight event is open to all ages.

  3. Whitetail Woods Regional Park

    Join us for a grand opening celebration of a one-of-a-kind park on. The event will feature live music by nationally known band The Honeydogs, horse-drawn wagon rides, a 5K Fun Run/Walk, food and fun.

    Scheduled activities
    11-11:45 a.m.: Ribbon cutting and lake dedication
    Noon-1 p.m.: 5K Fun Run & Walk
    Noon-2 p.m.: Live animals by the Zoomobile
    1-2:30 p.m.: Live music by The Honeydogs

    Parking: Due to limited onsite parking, free event parking is available offsite. Continuous shuttles to and from the park will be available at the Empire Transportation Center, 2800 160th Street W, Rosemount, and Rosemount Research and Outreach Center at UMORE Park, 1605 160th Street W, Rosemount.

    Look for signs and parking staff. Shuttle rides will start at 10:30 a.m. and pick-up every 15 minutes. The last shuttle ride leaves Whitetail Woods Regional Park at 4 p.m.

    Food: Hot concessions and cold beverages will be available to purchase.

    What to bring: Bring trail running shoes and clothes if you plan to participate in the 5K Fun Run & Walk. Bring your own kite for kite flying. Dress for the weather and bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

    Volunteers needed: Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. the day of the event to fill the positions of parking attendants, greeters, kite fliers, fun run registration staff, bonfire tenders, geocaching assistants and green squad helpers. Volunteers must be age 16 or older, or work with the supervision of an adult if younger than 16.

    Wild Ride! Ride the best mountain bike trails in the state at the Wild Ride Mountain Bike Festival.

    Bike demo trailers and local bike shops will be on hand for bike tune-ups, clinics, group rides and more. Free bike check-out available. Live music by Sans Souci (bluegrass).

    Concessions and beer available, prices vary.
