    “Play ball!” UMD Theatre presents the classic baseball-themed musical comedy Damn Yankees. A passionate Washington Senators fan sells his soul to the Devil - and the Devil's seductive assistant - in order to be transformed into a star outfielder who can lead his beloved team to a victory against those damn Yankees. Based on the novel The Year the Yankees Lost The Pennant and featuring music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, Damn Yankees features such hit songs as "Heart," "Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets" and "Shoeless Joe From Hannibal Mo.”
