Hamden Slough National Wildlife Refuge

This Wildlife Refuge is a transition zone from forest to prairie that provides habitat for more than 225 bird species. In 2004, it was designated as an Important Birding Area by the Audubon Society, one of only 8 sites in MN. Life list birds observed by many visitors. Managed by the nearby Detroit Lakes Wetland Management District Office in Detroit Lakes.
