Roberts Bird Sanctuary is a 13 acre preserve that lies adjacent to the shores of Lake Harriet in southwest Minneapolis. The sanctuary encompasses wetlands, wet prairie, and forest which attract a wide variety of birds - more than 200 species have been identified. Herons, egrets, songbirds, raptors and warblers abound. Take the time to explore adjacent Lake Harriet and go biking, canoeing, swimming and fishing.

  • Directions to Facility / Event: At the Intersection of King's Hwy and Roseway Rd, turn onto Roseway Rd. At the first driveway you come to (right side of street) turn right to enter the parking lot.

Other Date Information

  • Additional Date Information: 7:30am-10pm. The local chapter of the Minnesota Audubon Society offers free tours every Tuesday at 9 a.m. during April and May. Meet at the Visitors Shelter in the parking lot off Roseway Road.
