The Walnut Lake Wildlife Management area (2516 acres) has two lakes, grassy upland areas, willow thickets, and deciduous woodlands that offer habitat to a variety of wildlife species. Great blue herons, great egrets, red-tailed hawks, American kestrels, ring-necked pheasants, mergansers, mallards, and wood ducks are just a few of the birds that can be found at this site.

Directions

Take I-90 east of Blue Earth for 15 miles. Exit at Hwy 21 and drive north for 1.25 miles. A gravel road to the north bisects Walnut and South Walnut Lake.
