Year-RoundThe abundant lakes, marshes and small streams of Pigeon Lake Rookery provide an excellent habitat and nesting area for herons, egrets, pelicans, and cormorants. This is part of a recognized Important Bird Area. The best way to view the colony is from the MNDOT scenic outlook off Hwy 15. Please do not take a boat to see them. The young waterbirds do not tolerate disturbances, which may result in loss of eggs or young. Best viewed spring/summer
