History & Science in Minnesota

Museums and interpretive centers throughout Minnesota feature science and history collections worth exploring. The Science Museum of Minnesota, the Minnesota State Capitol and Minnesota History Center in St. Paul all capture the essence of the state’s beginnings. The Lindbergh family and James J. Hill legacies have individual sites. Science and history come together at such places as the Kensington Runestone Museum, Bell Museum of Natural History and The Bakken Museum. Visit another era at mansions like the Glensheen Estate in Duluth or Mayowood in Rochester. Many Minnesota State Historic Sites present Minnesota’s Indian and pioneer heritage, farming, milling and forestry heritage, and more.
