Water Sports in Minnesota
Minnesota’s 10,000-plus lakes and numerous rivers are just the place for fun on the water. Waterskiing was invented here in 1922, and boating and waterskiing are still summertime favorites. Public boat accesses are available statewide on lakes and rivers. Paddlers will enjoy the canoe and kayak routes on rivers and along the north shore of Lake Superior. If you don’t have your own boat, there are plenty of rentals. You can also go river rafting or tubing, scuba diving or houseboating. Splashdown in Minnesota!
