Minnesota Children's Museum Opens in Rochester
A new museum dedicated to sparking children’s learning through play opened in April 2012 in Rochester. Minnesota Children’s Museum of Rochester is a satellite location of the popular Minnesota Children's Museum in St. Paul, and both sites specialize in hands-on exhibits and programs for children ages six months through ten.
The museum offers parents and kids a refreshing alternative to the “do not touch” environment of most other museums. Kids crawl, play, and get busy in immersive exhibit environments, and enjoy art making and other activities.
Opening exhibits include Ball-o-Rama, which demonstrates physics with golf balls, and Go Figure!, a fun-filled take on math. Minnesota Children’s Museum of Rochester is located in a newly renovated space in River Center Plaza.
