Exhibit: Landscape Oil Paintings by Minnesota artist Mary Jo Van Dell. Ms. Dell's paintings are recognized by her minimalist technique, limited palette and often somber, moody feel. Free.
Featured Artists: Lanesboro Artists Paul and Tracey Lambrecht. Paul makes hand-carved and painted sculpture. Tracey creates pastes landscapes and still lifes. Free.
June 18, 5:30 – 6:30 pm Public reception for 'Art in the Park' artists. Free.
June 18, 8:00 pm "A Girl Named Vincent". Prudence Johnson sings music inspired by the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay. Stories, pictures and jazz and blues music accompanied by piano, cello, acoustic bass, percussion and Pedal steel guitar.

June 24, 7:30 pm – Documentary Film: "Waste Land". Waste Land follows renowned artist Vik Muniz on his journey to his native Brazil and the world's largest garbage dump. He collaborates with eclectic "catadores" – pickers of recyclable materials - as they recreate photographic images of themselves out of garbage. The project reveals both the dignity and despair of the catadores as they begin to re-imagine their lives. http://www.wastelandmovie.com

June 18 and 25 Eagle Bluff Ropes Course: Walk across a thin wire 30 feet in the air. Participants are fitted with safety equipment and then venture to the course for a Tree Tops Experience! Ages 10-17 is $20; Ages 18+ is $25.
June 22, 9-11 am, Old Buzzards Birding Eco Tour
A two-hour introduction to the flora and fauna of the Root River watershed surrounding Lanesboro. Tours are held in all weather except severe thunderstorms. Wear appropriate outerwear and footwear. Sunscreen, insect repellent, pants and long socks are recommended. Bring your own binoculars. A limited number of binoculars are available on a first come, first served basis. Fees: $20 per adult; $10 students 10-18 years old. Reservations required 24 hours in advance. Call 507-467-2437 to reserve a spot with a credit card. Cash or checks preferred at time of check in.
June 18-25 Geocache on the Root River State Bike Trail. Take a self-guided adventure and find geocaches along the Root River State Bike Trail and Lanesboro area. Pick up your free Geocache Guide at the Lanesboro Visitor Center, 100 Milwaukee Road (Red Depot building on the Root River State Bike Trail). Free.
June 18-25 Lanesboro Depot Visitor Center & Trailhead Beautification Project
Check out the interior and exterior redesign of the Lanesboro Depot Visitor Center that reconnects the structure to its origins as a 19th century Rail Depot. The new landscaping and beautification at the Depot building also incorporates indigenous plants of southeastern Minnesota.

June 20-23 Fillmore County History Center and Genealogy Library in Fountain, MN is home to one of Southern Minnesota's largest collection of antique agricultural equipment, aircraft, textile exhibits, tractor collection, log house, and country schoolhouse. ADA compliant wheelchair lift.
