Several St. Paul based recipients of funding from the Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment are working together on a "Legacy Weekend", April 1-3, 2011, throughout the city. The St. Paul Legacy Destination weekend includes the following events and partners:

Minnesota History Center- April 2 and 3; 2-for-1 admission

Our Minnesota– Behind the Scenes Access - April 3
A behind the scenes peek of a major new exhibit under construction called "Our Minnesota."
A Thousand Journeys, One Home: Asian Pacific Heritage Day - April 3, Noon-4:00pm
Twin Cities Asian Pacific communities gather to highlight Chinese, Cambodian, East Indian, Hmong, Japanese, Laotian, Thai, and Vietnamese traditions and to make connections not only to each other, but to the broader communities in which they live, work, and play. The family day features music and dance performances, calligraphy and henna painting, food ways demonstrations and art activities.
Meet and Greet with Meteorologist Paul Douglas - April 2, 10-11:30am
Meteorologist Paul Douglas will be at the Minnesota History Center to meet, greet and talk weather at the "Weather Permitting Exhibit".
For the Love of Lakes with Professor Darby Nelson - April 2, 1-2pm
Darby Nelson shares delights hidden beneath the waves. Avid outdoorsman, former biology professor, and former Minnesota legislator has finished his latest book, For the Love of Lakes, a journey of the country's lakes from Minnesota to New England and, ultimately, Thoreau's Walden Pond. He talks about the glacial origins of lakes, their ecology, and their future.
Minnesota State Capitol– April 2, 10am-2pm and April 3, 1-3pm. Free hourly tours.
State Capitol Art Treasures Hunt- April 2, 10am-3pm and April 3, 1-4pm. Fee: $2 per booklet.
Go on a self-guided scavenger hunt to discover 12 beautiful and important decorations in the State Capitol building.
James J. Hill House- April 2, 10am–3:30pm and April 3, 1-3:30pm
Rugged stone, massive scale, fine detail, and ingenious mechanical systems recall the powerful presence of James J. Hill, builder of the Great Northern Railway. Guides lead tours (75 minutes) every half-hour during open hours. Reservations recommended.
Ordway Center for the Performing Arts
STOMP - April 1, 7:30pm; April 2, 5pm & 9pm; April 3, 2pm & 7:30pm
The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. For tickets and information, visit: www.ordway.org
Actors Theater of Minnesota – The Lowry Theater
Flanagan's Wake - April 1, 7pm
Join the villagers of the beautiful fictional village of Grapplin, County Sligo, Ireland, as they tell tales, sing songs and mourn the passing of one of their own, Flanagan. You can share tales of your own experiences and misadventures with dear old Flanagan or simply enjoy the stories and songs of the locals.

Samuel H Morgan Regional Trail April 2
9:30 am ride registration at the intersection of N Mississippi River Blvd and Emerald St SE
10:00 am 12 mile guided bike ride begins
The Samuel H. Morgan Regional Trail takes you into downtown Saint Paul, passing historic sights such as the Island Station Power Plant, built in the 1920s, and the 6-story St. Paul Municipal Grain Elevator, built in 1931. Crosby Farm Regional Park boasts a marina and plentiful trails. Find an historic pavilion and paddleboat tours at Harriet Island Regional Park. Hikers and bikers can visit Cherokee Regional Trail above the St. Paul High Bridge.
