Giddy-up and Go Horseback Riding
Explore Minnesota's woods from the back of a horse. Mount your steed and enjoy a leisurely ride under the guidance of a wrangler, who can offer basic tips to riding newbies. Trails rides are a great addition to a family vacation. What kid (even an all grown-up one) doesn't dream of riding a horse?
Minnesota's travel website lists a dozen stables around the state, including two at resorts. Guided trails rides are available at a variety of locations, from the edge of the Twin Cities area to Superior National Forest. Prices range from $25-50 an hour. For those who are lucky enough to have a horse of their own, Minnesota has more than 1,000 riding trails in state parks, state forests and state trails. See the DNR website for trails.
